Letters of the Wilson family, 1859-1867.

In letters written to their brothers William and Alexander, the Wilsons describe life in Iowa during the settlement period around the time of the Civil War. J.A. discusses his work as a carpenter and mentions prices of goods and services. James writes of current events such as the local military draft and the emancipation proclamation. One page of music with notes is also included.
